A Trip To Little America

On Sunday my friend and I found ourselves in the company of some guys from the air force base. I spent a better part of the morning talking about how we should all go on base to the Chili’s for lunch. I had heard lots of good things about the restaurant, but I’ve never eaten there. We might have it in Canada, I don’t know, definitely not in my slice. Many of the teachers have gone on week nights, but I always had to work then.

And so we get there. I’m so excited, I order my food, receive it and then this happens:

chili's

The guys from the air force fought to the death for my bacon though.

The base itself was pretty bland, except that it looked so much like home. The sidewalks looked like the ones from home. It’s hard to describe, just so much like North America, it was weird. I’m not even from the US and I’d say it looks like home. Wide streets lined with beige-white sidewalks and trees.

It didn’t occur to me to take photos, possibly because it was raining a lot. It’s rainy season here. I’ve taken to spending a lot of my free time hiding from the outdoors.
